Mitragynine is the primary alkaloid in kratom leaf, Mitragyna speciosa, a tree in the coffee family native to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. It usually makes up the largest share of the leaf's alkaloid content, alongside a long supporting cast that includes speciogynine, speciociliatine, paynantheine and corynoxine. Those ratios shift with the tree, the region, the age of the leaf and how it was dried, which is the real reason vein colors and regional names drink differently. Our kratom is tested by batch so the alkaloid profile is known rather than guessed.
