How to Prepare Kava
Place approximately 2–3 tablespoons of medium-grind kava root into a reusable strainer bag. Add the bag to a bowl containing approximately 2 cups of warm, not hot, water.
Knead and squeeze the strainer bag in the water for approximately 8–10 minutes. Wring out the bag, remove it from the bowl, and pour the prepared kava into a serving cup or traditional kava bowl.
A second wash of the same kava root can be prepared for a lighter batch.
