Wild Dagga Extract

Wild dagga, Leonotis leonurus, and its cousin klip dagga, Leonotis nepetifolia, are mints rather than anything related to cannabis, despite the name the Dutch settlers gave them in South Africa. The compounds researchers point to in this genus are the labdane diterpenes, marrubiin in particular, along with leonurine and a set of flavonoids like apigenin and luteolin. The bright orange flowers carry a different balance than the leaves, which is why traditional Khoikhoi and Zulu preparation treats them as separate materials. We sell flower and leaf separately for that reason.
