Water Soluble Kratom Extract: The Salt Form, Explained

Water soluble kratom extract is kratom extract that actually dissolves in water, and the form that does it is the salt form: mitragynine converted to its hydrochloride (HCl) salt. Standard extract powder is freebase mitragynine, which does not dissolve. Stir it into a drink and it floats and clumps. The salt form goes into water, juice or tea and mixes in, which is the whole reason buyers search for it.

Why most kratom extract does not dissolve

Mitragynine in its base (freebase) form is not water soluble. That is a chemistry fact about the alkaloid, not a quality problem with any one product. Converting mitragynine into its HCl salt changes how it behaves in liquid without changing how concentrated it is.

That concentration is worth pausing on. Salt or freebase: which water soluble choice is right?

If your extract goes into a drink, choose the salt. If you take your extract as a dry powder and want the widest strength range, including the 85% top end, choose freebase.
